Control Systems Engineer - PLCs

We’re seeking a talented automation engineer to join a brand at the forefront of maritime decarbonisation to work with them on a host of challenging new projects 

Undertaking a wide range of customer projects ranging from small leisure craft to ocean-going tankers this brand have gone from strength to strength and now boast a team of around 40 specialists from across various industries. 

With a particular product within their arsenal being very well received they are now seeking an engineer with specific experience in PLCs to join them, working as part of a project team and directly with their customers to produce controls packages that will suit their specific needs. 

Duties for the role include:

– Joining a project team from initial client introduction to understand the project aims and client requirements

– Using your own knowledge of control systems to specify a suitable systems, working with colleagues to build the mechanical and electronics packages required 

– Program and test control systems for their intended use, troubleshooting and performance testing for optimum outcome

– Joining the finished craft on sea trial for testing and improvement works 

As an individual you will be an experienced controls or automation engineer with extensive PLC exposure and 7-10 years industry post-studies. With a relevant degree qualification at a high level (ideally masters) you will be confident working with complex controls projects and capable of writing codes to control them. A solid team player, you’ll also be able to extract the right data from colleagues to create the perfect solution
