A highly respected, independent Engineering and Consultancy firm is seeking a Senior Marine Engineering Specialist to join their team. This is a key, influential role where you will apply your deep technical expertise across a diverse project portfolio. You will take the lead in delivering challenging engineering studies, concept designs, and detailed design packages for high-value marine and offshore assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Lead the definition, execution, and delivery of complex engineering work packages, ensuring compliance with international codes, standards, and classification society rules.
Design & Analysis: Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stability assessments, structural calculations, system design (e.g., propulsion, machinery, piping), and equipment specifications.
Project Management: Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for engineering deliverables, acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients.
Innovation: Contribute to the development of novel solutions, system improvements, and technical specifications, maintaining awareness of emerging industry technologies.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical review to less experienced team members, promoting a culture of high-quality output and continuous learning.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
A degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
Significant post-qualification experience in a consulting, design, or ship/offshore yard environment, with demonstrable technical leadership on projects.
Expert knowledge of relevant international standards (e.g., IMO, Class Society Rules).
Proficiency in conducting advanced engineering calculations and using relevant software tools (e.g., CAD, analysis packages).
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of clearly presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
