We’re looking for a highly experienced Naval architect to join a leading yacht engineering studio to lead naval architecture projects within their innovative facility, taking a strong position in the ongoing development of some of the best yachts in the world.

A rare opportunity presents itself to take a project lead role across all things naval architecture. 

Duties will include:

– Being the main point of contact for shipyard, class/flag and owners team.

– Overseeing all matters related to naval architecture throughout a project, managing a team of 4-6 Engineers/Naval Architects across a host of disciplines.

– Taking responsibility for all matters related to weight and stability, incline testing, hydrodynamics, hull testing and more.

– Sitting at internal and external meetings to provide reporting and updates relating to all matters associated with naval architecture.

– Ensuring a strong and coherent relationship with internal and external design partners that results in all works meeting the needs of all regulators whilst maintaining the client brief and intention.

– Growth and development of the naval architecture team.

As an individual you will be an experienced Naval Architect who is well versed with yacht new builds and knowledgeable on all the requirements and expectations of builds exceeding 60m. Degree qualified, you will have 10 or more years in the sector and be confident to lead others across new yacht engineering, working collaboratively to ensure timely and expected outcomes for the stakeholders involved. Able to show various completed projects in a similar size range, you will be ambitious and keen to evolve your career with a market leader.

Based at the studio on the outskirts of Amsterdam, you’ll be provided with all the tools required to succeed and be rewarded with a strong salary of up to €85,000 and an excellent benefits package, not to mention continued career growth. English language skills to a high professional or fluent level are essential, Dutch language a plus.
