Systems Design Engineer

SYR have an exciting opportunity to work with a leading shipyard who build custom sailing yachts based in Germany, seeking a skilled design engineer to join their team, working across the design and engineering of a host of cutting edge systems aboard their custom composite yachts

 

With a range of semi and full custom vessels available, each craft is highly unique and with around 35 yachts in the fleet and 10 in build at any one time, the yard is growing.

Due to this expansion they seek a talented engineer to oversee systems design engineering. Reporting into the Head of Engineering the role will include the following duties:

• Working with internal and external design partners to ascertain project requirments
• Specification and selection of onboard systems
• Placement and engineering in 3D CAD (Solidworks) of propulsion systems, mechanical, hydraulic and water systems
• Creating of highly accurate 3D and 2D output for manufacture
• Ensuring designs and placements align with regualtory and class requirements
• Working to source and engineer the fitment of novel and innovative onboard systems
• Population of BOMS

 

A role with excellent growth potential, we seek an individual with 5+ years working with luxury motor or sailing vessels as an engineer or naval architect. You’ll be confident working independently and have a keen eye for detail. Skills in Solidworks and Autocad are essential, as are English language skills

In turn you’ll be offered an attractive earnings package along with support to relocate to NE Germany at the shipyards location. Please note this is a full time on-site role.
