We’re seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join one of the biggest names in sailing yachts.

Based in the UK, this well known brand have spent 50 years building ocean-going yachts from 40-125ft and continue to be a leader in their field. With a bulging order book, the brand continue to grow and evolve and now seek a Technical Support Specialist for a multifaceted role that spans the organisation.

An exciting role, this position will see you support a global manufacturer-led event, acting as the main technical contact point for owners, Captains and crews involved in the flagship event as well as supporting the team in commissioning.

Being a font of knowledge not only in sailing but also in boatbuilding, you’ll be relied upon as a troubleshooter throughout the event, from electronics to sails, interiors to deck gear. So you need to be clued up not only on the product but about sailing in general. Taking something of a lead role, you’ll be bringing together technicians in various disciplines to keep the fleet operational and in good order, both as a co-ordinator and someone on the end of a phone. With access to both internal and external tools and support, you’ll keep a consistent log of all issues, ensuring ongoing support where required and communicating with the factory and third party suppliers as required.

On the commissioning front, you’ll also support the commissioning team from an overall perspective, being able to dip in and out of projects and supporting where necessary, continually building your knowledge base and refining your troubleshooting skills.

As an individual, you’ll be skilled primarily as a boatbuilder, with a City & Guilds in either boatbuilding, engineering or electricals. You’ll know boats inside out but alongside this you’ll be qualified to sail them too, holding a YM Offshore qualification or similar, with commercial endorsement, STCW and ENG1. A solid communicator, you’ll be comfortable to work with Captains, crews, owners and colleagues to find solutions to a host of challenges and be able to back up your suggestions with facts and figures gained through a career on yachts.

You’ll receive an opportunity to work with a great team in a fantastic workplace, offered a strong salary and earnings package plus potential to grow within the role.
