An exciting opportunity has presented itself to join a leading yacht design studio in Italy as an Exterior Designer

With 20+ years in luxury and high performance yacht design, this studio has won countless awards and is considered one of the most respected and decorated in Italy. Past projects have ranged from 10m through to 100m with the typical Italian beauty you would expect and the performance to match. Due to growth, they are now looking to appoint an Exterior Designer to the team to work on a busy project pipeline.

Reporting directly to the studio owner, the role will include:

– Creating high quality sketches for client presentation, capturing the client’s ambition and style.

– Working with the studio owner to build the design language and create a range of exciting concepts both directly for client and to build brand visibility.

– Generate 3D visuals for presentation and industry press.

– Create exceptional 3D CAD models for technical design and engineering.

– Confirm and ensure that works are in keeping with class and flag requirement.

– File and document CAD work through the internal storage facility.

As an individual you will be well versed in exterior yacht design, showing a clear command of both pencil and mouse, able to generate exacting designs that can be engineered and manufactured by shipyards across the world. A real creative, you will have your own design language to integrate into the organisation that will further enhance the brand’s output and evolve your own skillset. A clear command of Rhino is essential as well. 

The role will see you located in southern Italy on a permanent and full time basis, with international travel expected. As such, you will need to be either an Italian or EU national and also possess a solid command of both Italian and English languages.
