This is an extremely exciting opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving and fast-growing shipbuilding company. As a Warranty Coordinator you will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of ships.

As our portfolio of delivered vessels continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Warranty Co-Ordinator to join our Project Services team.

Acting as a key point of contact for our clients following vessel delivery, you’ll take responsibility for coordinating warranty claims and post-delivery support, working with customers, our production teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure issues are investigated and resolved effectively.

We’re looking for someone with:

✔️ Experience in after-sales, warranty or service management

✔️ Strong customer-facing and communication skills

✔️ Good technical understanding of vessels and marine operations

✔️ Excellent organisation, problem-solving and attention to detail

The role can be based at our shipyard in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight or our Southampton office, with occasional travel required to support vessels and customers.

    This is an extremely exciting opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving and fast-growing shipbuilding company. As Commissioning Trials Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of ships.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting tests required by the classification society and/or supervisory body, as well as those necessary to obtain a provisional navigation permit from maritime authorities. You will ensure that the results of dockside and sea trials meet contractual and functional requirements set out in the contract.

    Additionally, you will organise and participate in the vessel’s contractual acceptance tests alongside the customer and/or their representative, following the criteria and definitions outlined in the technical specification and contract.

    All responsibilities will be performed in alignment with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), with a particular focus on the PR3 process, "Managing Projects."

    Main Duties and Tasks

    Roles and Responsibilities

    · Vessel Commissioning & Internal Shipyard Trials

    · Conduct commissioning, system, and equipment operations.

    · Person responsible for trials afloat

    · Prepare test sheets and trial reports.

    · Serve as the primary contact for subcontractors and suppliers during testing and commissioning phases ensuring smooth collaboration between key system integrators.

    · Coordinate and manage presentation / certification tests for maritime authorities, classification societies, and supervisory bodies.

    · Conduct presentation / certification tests for the shipowner and/or their representative.

    Contractual Trials & Delivery

    · Coordinate and manage contractual trials on-site before vessel delivery.

    · Facilitate the ship’s acceptance process.

    · Prepare the vessel for shipment.

    · Draft mission and activity reports.

    Quality Responsibilities

    · Apply and adhere to the Shipyards Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and guidelines.

    · Manage quality assurance within assigned projects.

    · Identify and recommend enhancements to the QMS as needed.

    · Support the warranty team with detail and insight from the trials period and if necessary help warranty during busy periods.

    Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

    · Follow and enforces company safety and environmental regulations.

    · Report hazardous situations to management.

    · Monitor and update periodic equipment checks.

    · Suggest safety and environmental improvements within the company.

    · Develop customer prevention plans before subcontracted work begins.

      The Role

      The primary focus of the role is to liaise with clients and stakeholders within the business to ensure projects are progressing in line with the client specification, particularly with regards to cost, time and quality. The role holder will be required to interpret technical specifications and assess whether these are being delivered to the required quality and standards and within agreed timeframes.

      Although the role holder will not be responsible for creating the project plan/schedule, they will work closely with the Project Scheduler to ensure the plan and the timeframes are accurate. A key aspect of the role will be to effectively manage inter-dependencies within the production process and to keep the client updated.

      Main Tasks and Duties

      Internal management of the project

      · Initiate the project in collaboration with other departments.

      · Manage and coordinate the project costs, lead times and quality.

      · Delivery of project to Contract and Technical Specification

      · Monitor the progress of design, purchasing, production, commissioning, and delivery to ensure each element is delivered safely and on time.

      · Work closely with Project Scheduler to update the project plan/schedule.

      · Continually assess quality to ensure all aspects of the ship is built to a high standard.

      · Facilitate yard project meetings to ensure smooth flow of information.

      · Coordinate interdepartmental needs and relationships.

      · Risk Analysis, Management and Mitigation

      Customer relationship management

      · Prepare the Project Quality Plan.

      · Provide information and project progress reports to senior management and clients.

      · Liaise with clients to ensure their specifications/expectations are met.

      · Manage amendments i.e. contractual or technical modifications to the project.

      · Report on the progress of technical terms and intermediate payments.

      Supplier/subcontractor relationship management

      · Participate in the definition of the suppliers’ and subcontractors’ purchase order specifications.

      · Liaise with the Purchasing Team to ensure the appropriate and timely purchase of materials and equipment.

      · Monitor and implement Health, Safety and Quality procedures related to project.

      · Contribute to the assessment of the skills and resources requirements of a project.

      · Supervise, monitor and coordinate work carried out by the subcontractors.

      · Management of the Customer acceptance/commissioning of the projects

      · Achievement of the provisional and final delivery stages, with the signature of the acceptance certificates, and the issuance of the related invoices
