Are you an accomplished Marine Engineer and all-rounder with a solid knowledge across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and composites?
SYR are working with a leading UK shipyard as they look to appoint an Aftersales Engineer to their team, tasked with supporting their large global fleet of luxury craft through ongoing warranty support and a high standard of aftersales.
Based on the south coast, this longstanding yard build custom craft for an international market and offer an unrivalled level of post-delivery support to their customers to ensure that the end product remains in top condition, full serviced and fully operational. With more and more vessels joining the global fleet, the aftersales team needs to grow with the appointment of an Aftersales Engineer to support vessels in the field.
Reporting into the Aftersales Manager, the role will come with the following duties:
– Indepth technical support to both internal and external stakeholders, being the first point of contact for all matters.
– On-site technical support, repair and advice inclusive of direct and indirect warranty claims and repairs.
– Diagnosis of technical faults, troubleshooting and repair both using your own experience and through advice via OEMs.
– Internal and external reporting.
– Supporting production when not on assignment.
As an individual you’ll bring experience in the build and/or maintenance of small luxury craft of up to 20m and be confident in new build installation, removal, repair and fault finding. With an analytical mindset and a clear understanding of marine systems, you’ll be confident to work with colleagues, clients and OEM suppliers on a global scale, sometimes travelling at short notice to visit vessels anywhere in the world.
