Job Overview:
SYR are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Craft Technician to join our clients team.
This client works on a lot of prototype work to a niche and high quality standard!
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs based on detailed technical drawings, ensuring minimal supervision is required.
This role demands precision, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently to complete assignments within set timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installations & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components as per detailed technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose electrical faults and issues, taking corrective actions promptly to restore systems to full functionality.
- Quality Control: Conduct tests and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and quality standards.
- Independent Work: Manage and prioritize tasks, ensuring projects are completed on schedule with minimal supervision and oversight.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete all necessary documentation, including work reports, time sheets, and maintenance logs, accurately and promptly.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to resolve complex electrical issues and improve system performance.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to relevant electrical codes and regulations.
- Equipment & Tools Management: Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment, ensuring all items are in good working order.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in electrical systems (e.g., apprenticeship, technical school, or trade certification).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Craft Technician or similar role, demonstrating proficiency in electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, control systems, and circuits, as well as the ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and schematics.
- Certifications: Relevant electrical certifications and licenses as required by local or national regulations (e.g., Journeyman Electrician).
- Self-Management: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while consistently delivering high-quality results.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated positions, and physically demanding environments; may require lifting heavy equipment or materials.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in [industry-specific systems or technologies, if applicable].
- Familiarity with PLCs, motor control centers (MCC), or other advanced electrical systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in both low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require occasional overtime and weekend work depending on project deadlines.
- Some travel may be required for site visits or to support remote projects.
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, with varying levels of exposure to electrical hazards and other industrial conditions.
