Structural Analyst – Pioneering Maritime Decarbonisation!
Are you an exceptional Structural Analyst ready to drive innovation at the forefront of the maritime sector? Our client, a leading innovator in maritime technology, is seeking a Lead Structural Analyst to join their impressive and expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to truly novel solutions and significantly impact worldwide emissions for future generations.
About the Company:
Operating at the top tier of the maritime sector, our client boasts a successful track record with numerous distinguished projects, all focused on reducing emissions and enhancing performance. They are now in a significant scale-up phase, developing first-of-class solutions that are truly revolutionising the maritime world.
The Opportunity:
As a Structural Analyst, you will be working at the early concept stage, developing advanced engineering and design solutions. This role offers the chance to tackle complex engineering problems and make a substantial contribution to global decarbonisation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Conduct detailed linear and non-linear structural analyses using Nastran.
-
Develop and validate finite element models of complex structural components and assemblies.
-
Perform static, dynamic, and buckling analyses to assess structural behaviour under various loading conditions.
-
Perform hand calculations to verify and provide physical insight into FEA results.
-
Collaborate closely with design engineers to optimise structural designs for weight, strength, and stiffness.
-
Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for structural analysis within the team.
-
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in FEA methodologies and software capabilities.
-
Participate in design reviews and provide crucial structural engineering input.
-
Support physical testing programs by providing analytical predictions and correlation studies.
Your Background:
We are seeking the best and brightest engineers with:
-
A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline with a strong emphasis on structural mechanics.
-
Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in performing linear and non-linear structural analysis.
-
Extensive hands-on experience with Nastran is essential. Familiarity with other FEA software (e.g., Abaqus, Ansys) would be a valuable advantage.
-
A strong understanding of fundamental structural mechanics principles and the ability to perform accurate hand calculations for stress, strain, deflection, and stability.
-
A solid understanding of finite element theory and its application to real-world engineering problems.
-
Experience in the maritime, aerospace, or similar high-performance engineering sectors is highly desirable.
