Are you an experienced designer or naval architect with the capability to design and engineer challenging interior layouts for superyachts?
We’re working with a leading brand in the world of large yacht design as they seek a Layout Designer to join them, working across the GA development of a host of superyacht projects up to and over 100m in length.
Based near to the city of Amsterdam, this award winning studio are busy with a broad range of projects and seek a talented individual to take on this technical role.
Duties will include:
– Working with the senior management team and creatives to craft GAs and technical drawings for large yacht projects
– Attending client meetings to understand their requirements of the yacht in order to build accurate layouts that meet their needs
– Working in line with a variety of yacht codes and classification demands, to ensure layouts meet strict requirements
– Constantly reviewing and updating of layouts with the management team until final sign-off is achieved
– Partnering with techical designers and shipyards to ensure ongoing project feasibility
As an individual you’ll come from a background in naval architecture or yacht design and be able to show clear and proven ability in the creation of technically challenging GAs and layouts. With a sold understanding of yacht design and engineering you’ll be able to provide a portfolio of completed projects which showcase your creativity and understanding of yacht design and your grasp of class and flag requirements. With the ability to input and communicate at all levels, you’ll be confident challenging others when it comes to meeting the needs of the client but also when a project demand is ultimately not possible.
