Lead Electrical Design Engineer

SYR are pleased to be supporting one of the best known names in sailing yachts as they embark on the search for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer.

Manufacturing a range of ocean vessels in the 50-90ft range, the brand have recently celebrated their 50th birthday and continue to evolve within a challenging marketplace, boasting a very solid order book well into 2025. As part of their team evolution, they are looking to fill this lead electrical role to ensure continuity in the development of electrical systems and routing aboard their craft.

Reporting into the Design Director, the role will include the following duties;

– Leading on change requests for custom projects, mid-life updates and new product development.

– Oversee teams in both design and electrical production.

– Be the champion for all things electrical when meeting with other departments.

– Ensuring that electrical projects integrate seamlessly across each build.

– Resource planning and recruitment.

– 2D Drawing and schematic development.

Our ideal candidate for this role will already have spent around 10 years working with small craft of luxury yachts and be confident working with the associated rules and regulations they are governed by. With a degree in electrical engineering and a practical understanding of maritime electrics, you’ll be confident in leading and driving a host of projects and delegating to a small team across a wide range of duties. Alongside your relevant electrical experience you’ll need to be able to work well with colleagues across the business and have the confidence to challenge and argue your case when required.

In turn, you’ll be working on some exciting projects within a great team. A salary of up to £60,000 plus a host of further benefits will be offered.
