International Business Development, Sales & Marketing Director

 

1. POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for all international sales, marketing, and business development activities of the client

 

The primary mission is to:

*Generate a continuous global lead flow,

*Build and manage strong relationships with brokers, designers, captains, managers, lawyers, naval architects and owner representatives,

*Ensure that the client is included in every relevant RFQ sent to shipyards, and

position the client as a strong, competitive alternative particularly for clients seeking tailor-made superyacht solutions.

 

The individual will reside in Europe, travel frequently, and operate across all major global yacht markets, including Europe, the United States and the Middle East.

 

2. CORE OBJECTIVES

2.1 Strategic Goals

*Ensure the client is considered in every international price request relevant to shipyards.

*Bring high-quality global leads from all major yachting markets.

*Position the client as a competitive, high-quality builder for custom superyachts and support vessels.

*Establish a strong, interconnected network with all major industry stakeholders.

*Maintain a balanced multi-region lead pipeline (Europe, USA, Middle East).

 

3. RESPONSIBILITIES

A. General Responsibilities

*Spend up to first three months working full-time at the shipyard.

*Afterward, be present at the shipyard at least one week per month.

*Attend all major global yacht shows and trade events.

*Host and guide brokers, designers, captains, and buyer teams visiting the shipyard.

*Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations for projects and the shipyard.

 

B. Business Development

B1. Lead Generation & Pipeline Management

*Create strong global awareness of the brand among brokers, designers, captains, yacht managers, and owner representatives.

*Generate continuous inbound and outbound leads from Europe, USA and Middle East.

*Ensure early involvement in new projects initiated by designers, brokers, or captains.

*Maintain an active CRM-based pipeline with daily / weekly updates.

B2. RFQ Inclusion

*Build relationships that guarantee the client receives every RFQ sent to shipyards.

*Develop trust-based communication with key broker houses and design studios to ensure the brand is always top of mind.

*Position the client as a value-driven alternative when European shipyards are considered too expensive or too slow.

B3. Global Market Coverage

Operate across all primary yacht markets with equal priority:

*Europe (Monaco, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Germany)

*United States (Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Miami, Newport)

*Middle East (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar)

The focus is balanced global awareness rather than prioritizing any single region disproportionately.

 

 

C. Marketing Responsibilities

C1.Global Marketing Strategy

*Develop an annual marketing plan covering all global markets.

*Strengthen the brand’s visibility, brand perception, and lead generation through integrated marketing efforts.

C2. Social Media Management

(Highly important for the position)

*Create and manage the monthly content plan for LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.

*Coordinate with agencies or freelancers for:

oEditing

oGraphic design

oVideo production

oPhotography

*Ensure all content is aligned with superyacht-industry English and global marketing standards.

*Track and analyze digital performance metrics.

C3. Marketing Materials Production

Prepare:

oBrochures

oTechnical documents

oProject books

oExhibition Booklets

oCorporate presentations

*Oversee render, photo, and video production sessions.

*Manage website content and updates.

C4. Event & Boat Show Management

*Plan and execute the clients presence at major global yacht shows.

*Handle stand management, invitations, guest hosting, branding, staffing, and scheduling.

*Collect and report all leads obtained from events.

 

D. Sales Responsibilities

D1. Global Relationship Development

*Continuously strengthen relationships with:

oYacht brokers

oDesigners

oCaptains

oOwners’ representatives

oYacht management companies

oNaval Architects

oLawyers specialized on large yacht sales

Maintain high-touch communication and proactive engagement.

D2. Sales Presentations & Pitching

*Present the shipyard’s engineering, quality standards, capabilities, and competitive advantages effectively.

*Deliver tailored pitches comparing the brand to European shipyards where appropriate.

D3. Competitive Intelligence

*Track pricing, schedules, capacity, and market positioning of key shipyards globally.

*Convert competitive insights into actionable sales arguments.

 

4. REPORTING STRUCTURE

The role reports directly to the Managing Director and President.

Daily Reports

*Short summary of meetings, calls, and developed leads.

Weekly Reports

*Lead pipeline updates

*Market intelligence

 

5. REQUIREMENTS

Must-Have Qualifications

*Minimum 5 years experience in the superyacht industry.

*Proven sales, marketing, and business development experience.

*Existing relationships with brokers, designers, captains, and yacht industry professionals.

*Strong ability to generate leads and manage pipelines.

*Experience with social media management and marketing material production.

*Excellent written & spoken English.

*Based in Europe, willing to travel frequently.

Preferred

*Experience managing multi-region markets.

*Familiarity with design and content creation tools (Adobe Suite, Canva, etc.).

*Understanding of video/photo production processes.

*RFQ → contract conversion ratio
