Senior FEM Engineer

An exciting opportunity to work with an industry-leading engineering studio has presented itself, seeking a skilled FEM Engineer

Our customer is a leader in the design, engineering and build of custom one-off superyachts based in the Netherlands. Famed for producing craft of up to and above 100m in length, the brand has a reputation for quality and performance. With a busy order book stretching as far as 2030, the engineering studio assosciated with the brand now require a Senior FEM Engineer to join them, working across all aspects of Finite Element Analysis and the assosciated calculations required to optimise performance and strength.

Reporting into the department head, the role will include the following duties:

– Carrying out detailed calculations for structural strength, vibration and performance. 

– Provide advice to colleagues across the organisation in terms of structural performance, acting as the expert in your field and with a constant eye on performance improvement

– Manage the internal workload requirements to ensure on-time and high quality output

– Constantly evolve your learning, building and developing tools to further improve FEM analysis and to provide your colleagues with even more streamlined outcomes

As an individual, you’ll already be carrying out a similar role in FEA/FEM Analysis or structural engineering and be keen to continue to develop your career with a leading shipyard group. You’ll understand the needs and demands of the large yacht world along with class and code requirements, being able to produce works that will fit the need of the client and be critical to vessel performance and quality. 

Degree qualified with a minimum of 5 years, you’ll have excellent experience in 3D CAD and Analysis tools such as NASTRAN and Femap, along with strong programming skills using Python. English language skills are essential, Dutch would a plus. If not already based in NL, you will need to be prepared to relocate (hybrid working is available though 3+ days a week in the office is expected
