Are you an accomplished Marine Engineer with a strong level of experience on tail-end systems on large maritime vessels?

Due to continued growth our client, a leader in hydraulics and engineering on yachts over 50m, seek an experienced individual to join them and be their in-house expert on tail-end systems and appendages, assisting them in a period of continued and exciting growth.

Based out of one of the world’s most prominent shipyard facilities and with 30+ years’ experience in the service and maintenance of large maritime craft, this employer has become the leading on site specialist in a range of mechanical and hydraulic systems and are under pressure from the yard to expand and cope with the ever growing needs of their large yacht clients. 

Working closely with a growing on-site team, the role will see you:

– Work closely with the quotations department to outline and specify the scope of works required.

– Undertake the servicing and maintenance of tail-end systems including but not limited to; propeller and shaft removal and replacement, rudder/keel removal and repair, thruster repairs and servicing.

– Secure on-site support for major part removal and safe storage.

– Work with major suppliers on parts repair, reprofiling and sourcing.

– Carry out checks in line with planned and unplanned maintenance needs.

– Provision of reports to be submitted for class and/or flag requirement.

– Build a strong relationship with OEMs and third parties to keep abreast of warranty claims, industry developments and more.

As an individual you’ll possess a strong mechanical engineering background, perhaps having spent time in a shipyard new-build or refit facility before, as well as time on board an operational vessel. You’ll have a strong knowledge of tail-end parts removal and replacement along with a keen eye for understanding problems and issues. You’ll be capable of working with and reporting to a range of stakeholders in an informed and technical manner. 

The role itself will see you based in mainland Spain, working with a fantastic facility and a brand that embody the high quality industry they operate in. As such you will need to be an EU passport holder and ideally based in Spain or one of the many Spanish islands. You’ll be mostly based from the yard, however there will be times when you need to travel to meet an operational yacht for support on emergency works.
