Systems Design Engineer

We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Systems Design Engineer to work with a fantastic UK shipyard in a systems design role.

With a long list of completed projects currently sailing the world’s oceans, the yard have worked with a wide range of Designers and Naval Architects to build some incredible yachts. However, with continued growth and more projects, they are now looking to appoint an in-house Systems Design Engineer to work with their external design partners on new projects.

Reporting into the Technical Director, this exciting role will see you:

– Work with external design and naval architecture partners on the placement and routing of systems including plumbing, electrical, hydraulics and mechanical.

– Creating high quality 3D models and 2D production drawings to ensure that systems both meet regulatory requirements and allow for the build to reach goals across weight, fitment and space.

– Creating BOMs for manufacturing and procurement.

– Ensuring designs meet class and flag requirements.

– Working with production on continually improving design feasibility and ease of manufacture.

As an individual, you’ll have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the yachting sector in a similar role. Driven and ambitious, you’ll be able to work confidently and quickly to ensure projects meet the expectations of all stakeholders and be able to create accurate and high quality 3D models in Rhino and Autocad.
