• The Onboard Foreman intervenes under the responsibility of a Project Manager to take charge of the on-site organisation and coordination between the various stakeholders present on the project.
• She/he manages the reception of the operators and ensures that the work environment is conducive to the work to be carried out.
• She/he ensures the on-site customer interface, the application of procedures according to quality and HSE standards and the forecasting of logistical needs.
 
•Experience: Successful experience in the marine industry
•Operational knowledge in two of the following areas: mechanical, boiler making, electrical, painting, carpentry, composite
•Good command of the Office Suite
•Bilingual English
•Rigorous, organised, and methodical, you are particularly reliable when it comes to important data to be processed.
•You are highly adaptable
•You are a team player, have good interpersonal skills and a sense of customer service.
•You have a good grasp of stress management and know how to manage priorities.
•Passionate about yachting and the sea, you want to invest in a service company

    Is your network focussed around yacht captains, management companies or even owners?

    We’re working with a leading international shipyard network as they look to attract new business with the hiring of a Sales Manager mainly focussed on business growth at their French facility. 

    An exciting and challenging role that will be a key part of the business growth, the position is remote based but with some expectation to visit the yard in South West France as required. Reporting into the divisional CEO, the role will expect you to:

    – Work with your existing network to encourage interest and the opportunity to quote for refit and maintenance works 

    – Attend shows and events to promote the business and encourage further enquiries

    – Analyse and reach out to existing and past contacts to promote the business and encourage returning business

    – Work with the estimators and project management team to create accurate and competitive quotations

    – Act as a direct point of contact on all commercial matters

     

    In a candidate we’re seeking someone with 10+ years in the industry who has built a strong international network that their can leverage to generate new business. You’ll have a solid technical understanding as well as the ability to build rapport and generate interest in the company and its services. You’ll be offered an annual salary plus performance related bonus based on business sold and have a chance to pitch for projects up to 125m (shipyard alongside capacity)

      Estimator - Superyacht Refit

      SYR are working in close partnership with a leading refit and repair brand in the superyacht sector to recruit an Estimator

      As an Estimator for the yard you will play a key role in the success of their yachtbuilding projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of superyacht refit projects, providing technical expertise and contributing to the overall success of the team. This role requires a deep understanding of project costing within the yachtbuilding industry and a passion for delivering excellence in every project. You’ll be working on projects of up to 100m with sometimes complex demands with a need to stay on top of the commercial aspect of each quotation

      Duties will include:

      • Analyze superyacht refit project specifications and requirements to create accurate cost estimates
      • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather all the necessary information for costing
      • Utilize industry knowledge and technical expertise to develop comprehensive and competitive project costings
      • Review historical data and benchmarking to ensure cost estimates are accurate and competitive
      • Create detailed reports and presentations to communicate cost estimates to stakeholders and clients
      • Continuously monitor and evaluate the progress of ongoing projects to ensure that they align with initial cost estimates

      We seek an ideal candidate for this role with the following capabilities

      • Proven experience in the superyacht refit or yachtbuilding industry
      • In-depth knowledge of project costing and budgeting processes
      • Strong technical expertise in yachtbuilding and refit processes
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
      • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
      • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in cost estimation
      • Relevant certifications or training in project management or costing is an asset
