An established superyacht refit shipyard based in La Ciotat, specialising in complex refit projects for large yachts. The shipyard works closely with designers, engineering partners, subcontractors, class societies, and owners’ teams to deliver technically robust and high-quality refit solutions.

Role Overview

The Electrical Engineering Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and integrating all electrical engineering activities and technical information throughout superyacht refit projects. Acting as a central interface between engineering, production, project management, and external stakeholders, the role ensures technical alignment, regulatory compliance, and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Coordination & Technical Review

  • Coordinate the generation, alignment, and integration of all electrical engineering technical information, including designs, specifications, calculations, drawings, and inspections.
  • Interface with all project stakeholders, including Lateral, Dykstra, subcontractors, class societies, and the Owner’s team.
  • Review, challenge, and comment on technical documentation to ensure optimal technical and operational outcomes.
  • Track system engineering progress and identify, manage, and resolve technical conflicts.

Compliance & Validation

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements, including Class and Flag regulations, HSE rules, internal procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Obtain and coordinate technical approvals, validations, and confirmations from the appropriate authorities.

Planning, Documentation & Reporting

  • Establish and monitor engineering planning activities in alignment with overall project schedules.
  • Act as a key interface between technical teams and project management to ensure planning coherence.
  • Coordinate engineering planning, scheduling, and progress tracking primarily using Wrike software.
  • Maintain structured organisation of technical documentation and deliverables in accordance with internal processes.

Production Support & Risk Management

  • Provide technical support to production teams to ensure quality of execution.
  • Resolve technical constraints by working collaboratively with production teams and the clients subcontractors.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate engineering-related risks and contingencies.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external partners, subcontractors, class, and clients.
  • Remain available by email and mobile throughout the duration of the mission, including periods off site, within normal working hours.
  • Respond to technical and coordination queries related to this agreement and the associated sequence of tasks.

    Quality Control Manager

    The Quality Control Manager is responsible for conducting and coordinating all site-level quality control activities to ensure that refit, repair and maintenance works meet technical specifications, class rules, contractual requirements and defined acceptance criteria. The scope of this role is strictly limited to operational quality control, while the management of the ISO/QMS system remains under the responsibility of the QHSE Department.

    Responsibilities:
     
    1. On-Site Quality Control
     
    Perform periodical inspections on all ongoing works (mechanical, electrical, hull, steelworks, carpentry, paint, piping, outfitting) as far as necessary.
    Verify compliance of works with project specifications, drawings, class rules and contractual requirements.
    Apply Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and carry out visual, dimensional and functional checks.
    Monitor subcontractor workmanship and report deviations.
    Participate in joint inspections with clients, captains, yacht managers and class surveyors if necessary.
     
    2.Punch List & Rework Management
     
    Prepare punch lists during intermediate and final project phases.
    Follow up and record the rectification activities with production teams and subcontractors.
     
    3.Material & Final Acceptance Controls
     
    Perform incoming inspections on critical materials, equipment and components when required.
    Conduct final acceptance inspections before project delivery.
    Reject non-conforming materials or works and share with all necessary parties.
     
    4. Documentation & Reporting
     
    Prepare QC reports summarizing inspection results, deviations, rectification progress and punch list updates.
    Maintain inspection records in an organized and accessible format.
    Ensure proper filing of QC documentation for internal and external reviews.
    Prepare the end-of-work quality report and organize all documentation related to the quality of the work performed on each order (material certificates, welder certifications and any additional reports requested by the project managers and/or the client’s representative).
     
    5. Coordination & Communication
     
    Coordinate QC inspections with Project Managers.
    Provide QC-related technical information during classification society surveys (RINA, BV, Lloyd's, ABS, etc.) if necessary.
    Communicate deviations clearly and promptly to relevant departments.
     
    Support operational planning by ensuring QC checks are aligned with project timelines
     
    6. QC Non-Conformities & Data Sharing
     
    Identify and report QC-related non-conformities such as dimensional deviations, workmanship defects, coating issues, incorrect installations, and material non-compliance.
    Record QC non-conformities into the central NCR system, using the defined basic data fields (description, area, date, QC category, link to rework/punch list).
    Systematically share all QC non-conformities with the QHSE Department for analysis, trend monitoring and consolidated reporting.
    Provide additional technical details upon request to support global NCR statistics and management reviews.
