Looking for a role that will see you support a well known and popular yachting brand as an Aftersales Engineer, giving you the opportunity to support a strong fleet and travel regularly into Europe?

SYR are working with a returning client of ours to seek an Aftersales Technician to support their superyacht brand, known for their beauty and style. With the employing brand based here in the UK, you will split your time between the UK shipyard and with customers’ vessels across the EU, expecting 5 or more short trips per month. 

Reporting into the Aftersales Manager, this role will be hugely important in keeping the fleet active and in service, with the following duties:

– Offering in-house technical support over the phone and in person to Captains and owners.

– Engaging with the vessel prior to its delivery to the customer to acquaint yourself with specific systems and parts.

– Being present at handover to offer technical advice and expertise and troubleshoot if required.

– Work with the factory and third party suppliers throughout the warranty period to ensure any warranty concerns or repairs are accurately dealt with in a timely manner.

– Keep detailed reports on customer vessels, accessible by both shipyard and supplier. 

– Travel to support vessels on repair and warranty matters, using local representatives where possible.

In a candidate, we’re seeking someone who has a strong electrical and mechanical understanding and is keen and willing to take on a role that will involve regular travel. With a minimum of an AEC Engineering qualification, you’ll be comfortable to work on yachts up to 100ft and have a current and extensive understanding of drivetrains, mechanical and electrical systems used on current vessels. Outgoing and confident, you’ll be able to deal with owners and Captains, suppliers and shipyards to ensure the correct outcome for all involved.

    Yacht Project Manager

    SYR are looking for a Project Manager to join a leading and well known brand in yachting, based on the Hamble River.

    An exciting brand that represent no less than eight new build shipyards from small craft to superyachts, they employ a wide range of talented individuals across 16 locations both here in the UK and abroad. 

    Due to an internal promotion, they are looking to onboard another Project Manager, a role that SYR have successfully helped them fill a number of times in the past years. A role that will see you work as the main point of contact to the customer, ensuring a seamless order and purchase process, you will be key to the organisation and be expected to fulfil the following duties:

    – Joining the customer journey at point of order, receiving a handover from the sales team and building rapport from Day 1.

    – Understanding the customers’ intended uses for their new yacht and working with them through the specification and commissioning process to ensure their new purchase is fit for the intended need and that they order and retrofit the required equipment to do so.

    – Working with the supplying shipyard to understand order lead times, checking on progress updates and ensuring any custom order requirements are completed prior to delivery.

    – Ensuring that on vessel arrival that the commissioning team are fully briefed on customer order items and that the vessel is completed and ready for delivery on the agreed dates.

    – Carrying out final snagging/check-over before handover.

    – Joining the client for initial sea trial and talking them through their new yacht.

    A thoroughly enoyable and diverse role, we seek the following skills from our next Project Manager:

    – A solid understanding of yacht manufacturing either through time on the shop floor or as a Captain of yachts under refit or build.

    – Excellent people skills, demonstrating a capability to manage all stakeholders in a timely manner and meet each party’s needs.

    – Strong organisation and administrative skills, ensuring timely delivery and that those involved in vessel preparation receive correct instructions.

    – Ideally a yachting qualification such as Day Skipper or Yachtmaster and an ability to handle vessels either at sea or in the marina.
