Are you an experienced HR professional currently working within Italian yachtbuilding?

We’re working with the newest shipyard in Italy, that will shortly commence the build of a number of highly innovative yachts that are aimed at near zero-emmission yachting and they’re heavily in growth mode to build a team that will manage and run the brand moving forwards. A critical appointment for the business as they scale up for production is an HR Manager. 

Tasked with both building an internal HR function and onboarding both the senior management team and the shipyard workers, this will be an exciting and challenging position for the right person and will be a long term opportunity with incredible growth potential. Initially a remote role but with regular travel to the yard, duties will include but not be limited to:

– Establishing an internal HR function

– Building HR processes and documentation in line with local and national legal requirements for employment

– Onboarding of new employees across various levels of the business

– Working with the business owners and executive team to make key hires into the business

– Handle any/all internal processes and procedures

 

This role will suit an Italian national both in terms of languages and knowledge of EU/Italian employment law. The ideal individual will be coming from a manufacturing or yachtbuilding background and be used to scaling up for projects and/or builds and the HR and recruitment challenges involved in this. Whilst a remote role predominantly, you will travel fairly regularly to the yard, based in Sardinia.

    Senior Project Manager - New Build

    We’re looking for a passionate senior project manager keen to join one of the most ambitious and innovative shipyards in yachting. 

    When the best engineering minds come together to design a yacht, you can guarantee its going to be groundbreaking! A consortium of hugely talented individuals have been working on this exciting project for a number of years and are imminently commencing the first build of their near zero-emission yachts, set to introduce a new standard in green yachting in a time where the industry is under heavy scrutiny. 

    Based in Italy, the yard will soon become a hub of activity as the first build commences, with the management team hard at work assembling a talented build team that will oversee construction of Hull 1. With the executive team now in place, they seek to develop the yard team, with the hiring of a Senior Project Manager to lead the build from a shipyard perspective. 

    In close collaboration with colleagues, this crucial role will focus around:

    – Working with internal and external design and engineering partners to put together a project plan

    – Recruit and select a host of trades and subcontractors to complete various aspects of the build

    – Act as a conduit between design office and shop floor, offering feedback to all stakeholders on project progress as well as advising on any issues that may arise 

    – Work with the commercial team and ultimately the client to ensure the build stages are expertly managed and that regular progress updates are provided 

    – Ensure a close eye on quality throughout the build

     

    As an individual you will have gained a number of years experience in the world of yacht new build, ideally with either full custom or semi custom yachts. You’ll be confident to work with individuals at all level and be able to enter each scenario from a place of knowledge and understanding. An excellent man-manager you will be able to lead and control internal and external manpower whilst also showing a clear understanding of commercial and operational requirements. Italian language skills are a must

      Are you an experienced CFO with a background in manufacturing and working with startups?

      SYR are working in collaboration with an incredible new yachtbuilding venture in Italy that are set to launch to market in the coming weeks. Working on a groundbreaking new project, the brand will be exploding onto the large yacht market with technology never before seen in yachting and are seeking a talented CFO  to work with them as they take their first orders and commence growth as a brand. 

      The CFO will be tasked with building and putting in place financial process, working with both internal and external stakeholders and managing the finances of this growing business. With various high level parties involved in the venture, a seasoned individual is key. 

      Duties of the role will include:

      – Developing internal financial processes 

      – Establishing and setting up entities both in Italy and in other jurisdictions

      – Securing and receiving stage payments

      – Processing finances and finances across various international locations

      – Financial reporting

      And much more. 

       

      As an individual you will need to have experience working in high value manufacturing, having ideally worked within yachtbuilding and understanding the irregular nature of its cashflow. You’ll possess a solid understanding of Italian and EU finance and tax regulation and be capable of working with the correct individuals to ensure business compliance.
