Are you an expert in Finite Element Analysis and keen to join a brand at the forefront of maritime decarbonisation?

Based in Portsmouth, this fantastic employer has been developing a range of highly innovative projects across foiling technology, new fuel methods and wind-assisted shipping and is looking for a talented FE Engineer to join them and work on FE Analysis across their broad project range. 

Deputising to the Head of Structures, this role will see you work to test and analyse new projects which on many occasions will be the first of their kind. Being assigned to specific teams for each project, you’ll be able to prove theories and advise changes to structural designs with the common goal of producing an outcome that meets and exceeds customer and industry expectations. 

For this role, we’re seeking an accomplished individual with strong experience in FE Analysis, ideally using Siemens NX and Nastran. Maritime experience is by no means essential, however ideally we’re seeking someone with experience working with larger structures. You’ll need to be a team player, keen to work towards a common goal of a brighter industry future and will be healthily rewarded through an excellent salary and employment package.

    We’re looking for a Naval Architect who doesn’t just want to be another engineer, to work with a leading consultancy at the forefront of maritime emissions reduction.

    Formed to examine and disrupt the boundaries of marine design and engineering in the name of decarbonisation, this exciting engineering brand have taken on some incredible projects across both large and small craft, bringing incredible tech from a range of industries to create vessels and designs that change the way we use and travel by water in the name of emissions reduction.

    As part of their continued efforts to re-educate an entire industry, the team now seek an experienced naval architect used to working in structures and FEA to work as part of their naval architecture team to design and test hull and vessel structures on vessels that will be breaking new ground in the maritime world.

    Joining the team in their state of the art offices on the south coast, you’ll be assigned to various projects and work with some of the best from across marine, automotive, motorsport and advanced tech to devise, design and test a range of exciting concepts.

    The ideal candidate for this role will not be someone who is content with doing things ‘the way they’ve always been done’. Instead we’re seeking an individual who has always wondered ‘what if?’ and given the tools to do so, will push the boundaries when it comes to designing hull structures and ensuring their strength and suitability for the intended use. Someone who can analyse existing structures and improve them, or in fact design them from scratch.

    It goes without saying that you’ll be degree educated to at least first class degree level in naval architecture, if not higher, and be someone who is keen on learning, evolving and growing. A solid team player, you’ll be able to bring your expertise to a variety of projects and work to produce incredible outcomes.
