We’re halfway there! The SYR Mid-Year Report

If you would like to receive this update as a monthly email register here.

Welcome to the second half of 2025.

Where’s the time gone? It feels like yesterday we were ringing in the new year and now we’re about to embark on the summer holidays.

Here at SYR we’ve had a stellar year so far, easing ahead of a challenging annual target and enjoying a steady and busy year thus far. Where June through August usually hits a pause button, we’re forecasting to hit one of our most successful months of the year in July.

The industry has an appetite for change and growth, mainly at the senior and c-suite level, but we’re here for it and continuing to develop and build our client base.

Our technical team of Alisha and Luke are diligently cementing our place as the go-to Recruiters across design, engineering and trades, welcoming a host of new and returning clients to the jobs page and maintaining a strong stream of interviews.

Over the coming months our sights are set on preparing for a busy show season, attending a number of local and international events and starting work on a website and marketing refresh. It’s all go!

Have a great month!

Q2 has come to an end and there’s lots to celebrate! Plenty of placements, lots of great conversations and networking to my heart’s content. My focus has been in Europe for the last three months both on a permanent and contractor basis. It has proved successful with a few challenges naturally but I can hold my head high with a healthy billing quarter and new/existing clients happy.

Business development and focusing on my niche within certain markets will be my focus for Q3 while maintaining lots of prospects worked on previously. Through market research, it has proved leisure marine has slowed right down so I will be exploring the commercial and defence subsectors within maritime. Here’s to a great Q2 and prosperous Q3 to come.

Commissioning and Aftersales Technician
SYR are looking for a practical, hands-on Aftersales Technician to support our client’s growing operations in Hampshire.  This role plays a key part in ensuring that newly delivered boats meet high standards before handover to customers.

The successful candidate will be involved in technical inspections, fault diagnosis and sea trials on vessels ranging from 30ft to 55ft.

See you next month!
