The industry has really found its stride in the last month, with design and management sectors really picking up and busy!

We’ve onboarded mostly brand new clients with some really exciting roles, whilst also continuing to bring in multiple vacancies from across our existing network. There have been some great interviews for very senior candidates of late too, showing that the industry is confident both in SYR and also industry performance moving forwards.

I attended the ‘Future of Superyachts’ conference in London last week as part of a panel focussed on skills shortages and labour attraction within the Superyacht Industry.
The sold-out event attracted a range of excellent discussion topics and some meaningful debate which we’re sure will lead to action within the industry, not only when it comes to staffing but also in regards to matters such as sustainability, yacht refit and market trends.

Design & Engineering has exploded recently. We’ve placed a number of candidates with brand new clients who have immediately released us new positions. Furthermore, technical engineering vacancies seem to be flavour of the month, with ten vacancies across various international brands and more coming through the pipeline. Things are picking up across the industry right now and SYR is seeing a huge uptake in new business, both in the UK and across Europe.

We have secured new supplier relationships with leading yachting brands who are looking to improve their recruitment process and source the best talent in the industry.

There is plenty to be excited about as we move into Q3 and continue to build on the success SYR has seen to date.

I have lots of UK-based contract work available right now across various skilled trades, so if you are looking for a new contract role drop me a message to see what could be suitable for you. My job of the month is focused on our need to source contract GRP Finishers for several locations along the south coast. This is an urgent requirement so please take a look and feel free to share it with friends/colleagues.

GRP Finishers (contract) – Dorset 

We have multiple positions in the Dorset area for GRP Finishers to work on contract for leading boatbuilders. There is up to 55 hours p/w available and immediate start dates in place.
